While many historic buildings in downtown Kansas City have disappeared over decades in favor of parking and new construction, iconic 500 Southwest Blvd remains. The brutalist Kivett & Meyers 1960’s design is a self-admitted nod to architectural giant Mies Van Der Rohe. Kansas City based Kivett & Meyers were legendary in their own right. The firm is credited with forward-thinking local and international projects including The Truman Sports Complex, Kansas City International Airport and Alameda Plaza Hotel (now the Intercontinental).

500 Southwest Blvd is a 20,000 SF concrete structure with 13,000 SF of flex and office space on the first level that featured and drive-in door off of the boulevard. The top floor is 7,000 SF of open office space with generous natural light and tall ceilings. An open two-story atrium with the original staircase connects both levels. The lot sits on 0.33 acres of land, with 20 private parking spaces. It is currently listed for sale at $3,200,000 ($160 PSF).
