The symbolism of Grand is more than just a location. It reinforces the vision of the feeling people get when walking past 100+ year old Italian brick and soaring concrete columns into work. It symbolized a foundation of place and community.  Just as the walls of the historic buildings held thousands of stories, dreams & realities, so will its next iteration – Grand Place.  Grand Place, located at 18th & Grand, will re-define redevelopment in the Crossroads.

Renovations of the historical building core and shell started in April of 2019, with completion by June 2021. At the heart of the development will be the original printing press building for the Kansas City Star which was built in 1914. The building will not only offer leasable office space, but a 35,000 SF European Market, a rooftop patio with skyline view, a clubroom for tenants and guests, a barber shop and spa, as well as a 400-car parking garage below.

In addition to the existing building, there is an adjacent 64,000 SF build-to-suit pad on the southeast corner, as well as a 5,960 SF – 23,840 SF bank pad on the northwest corner with a pre-approved drive-thru.  Grand Place will offer some of the best office space in the city.  It is the perfect space for start-ups or new energetic headquarters.
