CLAIRVAUX, a women’s designer specialty boutique, opened its first store in The Fairway Shops in September 2020, amid a global pandemic. After just a year and a half of unprecedented success, owner, Joni Johnson, looked to expand the company’s reach to a broader client base, providing a more convenient shopping experience to another area of the market. Its prime location at the 119th & Roe corridor, local tenant mix, and accessibility attracted Johnson to Hawthorne Plaza in Overland Park for a second location. Working with AREA’s Tiffany Ruzicka, CLAIRVAUX signed a lease for two spaces in the center, one for the boutique’s second store, as well as an office/showroom space.
With a strong ecommerce following, CLAIRVAUX needed the additional space to house the company’s operations team as well as provide a place for product shoots, buying, receiving, shipping, etc. The company’s strength in buying, programming and their entire team are some of the many attributes that set them apart from other boutique retailers, and has led to their swift success. Every piece of merchandise is strategically selected and planned before it even goes out to the public for purchase. CLAIRVAUX offers not only a curated shopping experience, but other personal services such as closet cleanouts, in-home styling appointments, and handpicked deliveries. They focus not only on the clothes and accessories they carry, but on creating relationships with customers to make them feel confident in what they wear.
Tiffany Ruzicka represents CLAIRVAUX and transacted both of the new locations.
