New Salon Coming Soon to Woodside Village

By | No Comments

Session Salon is coming soon to Woodside Village!  The Salon will take the former Shelby Herrick Salon space in the Westwood, KS mixed-use development.

The salon will bring a collective of educated and talented hairdressers trained by L’Oreal Professionnel, the Parisian House of Hairdressing. Owner, Hollie Haskins, has over 11 years in the industry and is thrilled to be bringing her vision of a salon to Woodside. A vision where Paris meets the Plains; French in aesthetic, yet American in spirit; sophisticated and cool, chic, yet effortless.  Hollie is a National Artist for L’Oreal Professionnel, traveling the country training hairdressers and elevating the beauty industry.

Session’s clientele can expect a thoughtful and luxurious space without the ego, a space that allows women and men to feel utterly pampered but still at ease. Services include custom hair color, haircuts, keratin treatments, blowouts, formal styles, and hand-tied hair extensions!

Hollie feels Woodside Village is the best location for Session because it suits the company’s vision, brand, and consumer lifestyle. Session believes in community, getting involved, and giving back.

Session will join Blue Sushi, The Roasterie, ULAH Men’s Apparel and Home Furnishings, Blue Valley Physical Therapy and Unforked (coming soon!)

The restaurant joins Blue Sushi, Eat Fit Go, The Roasterie, Ulah Men’s Apparel and Home Furnishings, Shelby Harrick Salon, and Blue Valley Physical Therapy. Woodside Village integrates the Woodside Health & Tennis Club with 333 luxury residential units on top of the 36,000 SF of retail shops.

The new location will offer Boulevard Beers, FrozUN Margaritas and other specialty wines and beverages. It will also feature a grab UN go counter for quick lunches, those leaving their workouts or just passing on their way home.

ULAH (pronounced as yew-luh), started by Joey Mendez (formerly a buyer for Hall’s Mens Department) and Buck Wimberly (former Brands Strategist at Hallmark), is a men’s apparel and lifestyle store.  The goal of ULAH is to make high style and good design more accessible and relevant to men’s everyday life.We want it to be a comfortable hangout and bring the social aspect back to shopping,” Mendez said. You can expect to see many dimensions of a man’s life in ULAH with their apparel, accessories, essentials, gifts, and masculine home décor products.  For more information, check out their website at ulahkc.com.

Along with ULAH, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is now open and serving up business.  This is Blue’s first location in the Kansas City market.  The concept was founded in Omaha in 2002 with eight other locations in Nebraska, Colorado and Texas.

Blue offers a flavorful menu with a unique mix of sushi, sashimi, nigiri options, Asian-inspired appetizers, soup, salads and entrees.  They follow a traditional Japanese style by serving its dishes in the center of the table and are meant to be shared.   A few must tries are Yellowtail Serrano, Hotel Cali, Crunchy Blue, Lion King, Spicy Tekka and the Spider Maki.  From the grill menu, you can’t go wrong with the mango crab rangoon, pork gyozas, tuna tower, lettuce wraps and chicken satay.  While they are known for their sake, make sure to also try one (or two) of their signature cocktails. The bluetini, coconut mojito, and sangria never disappoint!  Lastly, if your sweet tooth is calling your name, don’t leave without trying the fried ice cream.  To see more of Blue’s menu & hours, visit their website at bluesushisakegrill.com.
